About ASV

We connect Africa’s experts, and the world’s, to the work that trains frontier AI.

ASV (African Silicon Valley) is an independent hub for AI training work. We find the platforms worth your application, check what they pay and who they accept, map how the money reaches you, and write it all down, with sources and dates.

01Why we exist

The work is real. The map was missing.

AI training is real, remote work, and for specialists it can pay well. But anyone who goes looking for it runs into the same four problems.

  1. 01

    Scattered.

The work is spread across many platforms, each with its own assessments, rules and rhythms. None of them compares itself to the others.

  2. 02

    Opaque.

Pay is quoted as ranges and “up to” figures. Who gets accepted, and why, is rarely explained.

  3. 03

    Full of scams.

Fake recruiters charge “registration fees” for work that does not exist. Legitimate platforms never charge you to apply or to work.

  4. 04

    Silent on Africa.

Whether you can join from Lagos, Nairobi or Accra, and how the money reaches you once you do, almost never has a written answer.

02What we do

We map the work, explain it, and offer some of our own.

Three parts with one purpose: getting capable people into good AI work, with their eyes open.

The hub

01

Platform profiles you can check.

A profile for every platform we list: the work, the assessments, the pay, where it accepts contributors and how payouts reach Africa. Every profile lists its sources, says plainly what we could not confirm, and carries the date it was last reviewed.

03Editorial standards

How we review a platform.

Every profile is built the same way, from the same kinds of sources, and says when it was last checked.

  1. 01

    Primary sources first.

Facts about pay, eligibility and payouts start with the platform’s own documentation: its help center, its terms, its listings. Where those are silent, we look for independent reporting we can check, and say so. Every profile links to its sources.

  2. 02

    Every review is dated.

Platforms change their rates, countries and rules with little notice. Each profile shows the day it was last reviewed, and says what we could not confirm, so you can judge how far to rely on it.

  3. 03

    Mistakes get corrected.

When something we publish is wrong or out of date, we fix it and update the review date. If you spot an error, email us.

  4. 04

    Independent by design.

Platforms cannot pay to be listed, ranked or reviewed, and none of them approves what we publish. Whether a platform has a referral link changes nothing about its profile.

04How we make money

Referral links keep ASV free. They never write the review.

Where we have a referral link, the Apply button uses it. When you join a platform through one, it may pay ASV a bonus. That costs you nothing, never comes out of your pay, and never changes which platforms we cover or what we say about them.

Who pays whom

PlatformtoYou
Pay for your work, at the platform’s own rates.
PlatformtoASV
Sometimes a referral bonus, when you join through our link. It never comes out of your pay.
ASVtoYou
Pay for accepted work on ASV Projects.
YoutoASV
Nothing. Not to read, not to apply, not to work.

05Principles

Four things we won’t trade.

The rules we write by, and the ones we hope you work by.

  • 01

    Honest over hype.

No income screenshots, no “$5,000 a month” headlines. We say what a platform pays, where it is hard, and when the work goes quiet.

  • 02

    Specific over generic.

Rates, countries, payout rails and dates, not adjectives. When we cannot source a number, we say so instead of guessing.

  • 03

    Africa first, open to all.

We check what works from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa and the rest of the continent first. Everything here is just as useful wherever you live.

  • 04

    Your account, your income.

Never pay for a gig, never rent or share an account, never hide your location. Those shortcuts are how people lose their earnings.
