Computational Protein Design Expert

On Turing

Rate not listed

A one-month contract building evaluation tasks for generative AI in protein engineering: you run computational design experiments, judge AI-generated protein sequences and structures, and write up benchmarks and findings. It suits PhD students and graduates in computational or structural biology with hands-on protein-design experience.

01 · The role

What you would do

  • Design rigorous evaluation tasks in de novo protein design, binder generation, motif scaffolding and sequence–structure optimization
  • Run computational protein-design workflows with generative and diffusion-based models and established tools
  • Assess AI-generated sequences and structures for folding confidence, stability, interface quality, novelty and plausibility
  • Write scoring rubrics, reference analyses and reproducible benchmarks
  • Document model limitations and failure cases in concise technical reports

02 · Requirements

What they ask for

  • A PhD, completed or in progress, in computational or structural biology, bioinformatics, biochemistry, protein engineering or a close field

Open in Africa

Open to applicants in Africa, as far as the listing and Turing's country rules show. Turing in Africa

Apply from where you live, as yourself. Using a VPN or someone else's identity to get around a country rule breaks these platforms' terms, and it is the quickest way to lose an account and any unpaid earnings.

About this listing

We last confirmed this opening on Oct 31, 2026. Rates and hours come from the listing unless the note beside the rate says otherwise. Where the listing names no countries, the Africa status is our reading of it and of what is known of Turing's country rules, set out on its profile, and never marks a role more open than they show. The listing itself has the final word.
