- Current or past work in a civilian intelligence agency, such as the CIA, NSA, MI6 or GCHQ, or an equivalent body, ideally in operations or collection
- Expertise in HUMINT, SIGINT, OSINT or another collection discipline
- Knowledge of how intelligence agencies work: procedures, legal authorities and interagency coordination
